Steps for installing male female rivets: First, drill a hole on the material to be connected that matches the diameter of the female rivet. Then, insert the female rivet into the hole and make sure that its head is flush with the surface of the material to be connected or slightly exposed. Next, insert the male rivet from the open end of the female rivet until the tail of the male rivet is in close contact with the inside of the female rivet. The diameter of the male rivet is usually slightly smaller than the internal diameter of the female rivet to allow for smooth insertion. Use a special knocking tool (such as a rivet hammer) to knock the tail of the male rivet. During the knocking process, the tail of the male rivet will deform, gradually expand and fill the internal space of the female rivet. As the knocking continues, the connection between the male and the female rivet will become tighter and tighter until a solid connection point is formed. When the knocking reaches a certain level, the tail of the male rivet will be completely deformed and pressed tightly against the inside of the female rivet, forming a non-detachable connection.

How Male Female Rivets Are Assembled

In a male female rivet pair, the male component is a solid rivet with a pre‑formed head. The female component is a semi‑hollow rivet with a head on one end and a shallow cavity on the other.

• Insert the male rivet through the hole from one side

• The solid shank expands into the cavity, locking the pair together
