Most machine shops specialize. Some turn. Some mill. Some do both but send heat treatment or finishing to a third party. The result for buyers is a fragmented supply chain—multiple vendors, multiple quality systems, multiple shipping costs, and one finger pointing at another when something goes wrong.
Nuote Metals takes a different approach. We manufacture CNC Machining Parts across turning, milling, drilling, and multi-axis machining—all under one roof, one quality system, and one point of accountability. Whether your part starts as a bar, a billet, or a casting, we can machine it complete and ship it finished.
The term covers a wide range of processes. Here is what we actually do:
CNC Turning – For cylindrical parts: shafts, pins, connectors, bushings, valve components. Bar-fed lathes up to 80mm diameter, chucked work up to 300mm.
CNC Milling – For prismatic parts: housings, brackets, manifolds, plates, heat sinks. 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining centers.
Multi-Axis Machining – For complex geometries that would otherwise require multiple setups: medical instruments, aerospace structural parts, hydraulic manifolds. 5-axis mill-turn centers machine the part complete in one setup.
Drilling and Tapping – For hole patterns, threaded ports, and fluid passages. CNC drilling centers with automatic tool changers.
Secondary Operations – Deburring, polishing, heat treatment, anodizing, plating, passivation. In-house or partnered—but always under our quality system.
Why this matters: When you send us a part that requires turning, then milling, then heat treatment, then grinding, you are not managing four vendors. You are managing one. That reduces lead time, eliminates shipping between vendors, and ensures one quality standard applies to every operation.
Nuote Metals operates a mixed equipment fleet to cover both high-volume production and complex, low-volume work.
| Process | Equipment | Capacity |
|---|---|---|
| CNC Turning | 30 lathes (bar-fed and chucked) | 2mm – 300mm diameter |
| CNC Milling | 12 vertical and horizontal machining centers | 800mm × 500mm × 500mm |
| 5-Axis Machining | 6 mill-turn centers | Complex geometry, single setup |
| Drilling & Tapping | 8 CNC drilling centers | Up to 50mm holes |
| Secondary | Deburring, polishing, assembly | Manual and automated |
Materials we machine regularly:
Tolerances: ±0.005mm standard, ±0.002mm precision for critical features. Surface finish from Ra 3.2μm to Ra 0.2μm.
Volume capability: Prototype (1–50 pieces), low-volume production (50–5,000), high-volume production (5,000–500,000+).
Because we machine, heat treat, and finish under one roof, our quality system covers the entire process—not just the machining step.

A North American hydraulic equipment manufacturer needed a 4140 steel manifold with 12 cross-holes, 6 threaded ports, and a 0.01mm bore tolerance. Their previous supplier machined the part on a 3-axis mill, then sent it to a second shop for thread tapping, then to a third for heat treatment. Lead time was 8 weeks.
What we did differently:
Q1: What is the difference between CNC turning and CNC milling?
A: CNC turning rotates the workpiece against a stationary cutting tool—it is used for cylindrical parts like shafts, pins, and connectors. CNC milling rotates the cutting tool against a stationary workpiece—it is used for prismatic parts like housings, brackets, and manifolds. Many parts require both processes. Nuote Metals operates both turning and milling equipment, plus 5-axis mill-turn centers that combine both in a single setup.
Q2: Can you machine parts from my 3D file (STEP, IGES)?
A: Yes. We accept STEP, IGES, PDF, and DWG files. Our engineering team reviews every drawing for manufacturability (DFM) and provides feedback on tolerances, tool access, and potential cost savings before quoting. For complex geometries, we can also produce a first article sample for your validation.
Q3: What tolerances can you hold on CNC machining parts?
A: Our standard tolerance is ±0.005mm, with precision capability down to ±0.002mm for critical features. Achievable tolerance depends on material, part geometry, and feature type. For heat-treated parts, we recommend specifying tolerances after heat treatment or allowing for grinding. Nuote Metals reviews every drawing and provides DFM feedback on achievable tolerances before you place an order.
