Pan head rivets are similar in structure to flat head rivets, except that the head is trimmed flat and then rounded. The head has a flat arc transition shape with a radius of approximately 1.5 times the shank diameter. They are primarily used in applications where connections must be made in tight spaces. The flat head reduces protrusions, making installation easier.
